The Known World.
This known-world, that we mundanely live-in, is currently divided into 19 Kingdoms.
I am currently residing in the Kingdom of Trimaris (Florida), but I may be relocating to the Kingdom of Atlantia (Virginia) by year’s-end.
I have been around, or in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) since around 1991-2.
The Society is packed with most any type of person you can imagine: Dish-Washers, Bus Drivers, Law-Enforcement, Military, Musicians, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Rocket Scientists. . .
What do we do?
About the SCA
The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our “Known World” consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world.
Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which may feature tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, and more. Our “royalty” hold courts at which they recognize and honor members for their contributions to the group.
The above is like a buffet of what we, as a whole, do. Individual members gravitate to various aspects.
I’m a tinker by nature. . . I’m drawn to the sciences: Siege-Engines, Armouring, Smithing, especially how things work. I grew-up plinking with long-rifles as a kid, and in my teens I was hooked on Archery and (to everyone within earshot’s dismay) Filking and Joiking.
