Archery – Current objects of my lust.
I am currently lusting after this bow:
http://horsebows.com/bows1.htm#Vazul
The bow weighs 2 lbs. The string is 55.125 inches. It is 61 inches long unstrung and 58 inches strung. 1.75 inch wide belly. It is available in draw weights from 25# to 90#
I like the fact that the Vazul is offered in ‘Military weights’. My current bow is a 50# Bear recurve. I would like to work-up to a 90# or 100# recurve. Why? Just because there is nothing like shooting long, flat trajectories.
Kassai’s website has recently been updated, along with his product-line. The following 3 bows are potentially lust-worthy.
An Updated Mongol (Mongol-C link is anchored wrong) and Panther bows:
http://horsebows.com/bows2.htm#Panther
The Panther weighs 2 lbs., uses a 55.125 inch string and is 57 inches strung, 48 inches unstrung. The belly is 1.75 inches wide,.The Mongol-C weights 2lbs 3oz., and uses a 56 inch string, When strung it is 58 inches long, unstrung 49 inches, and the belly is 2.25 inches wide . Both are made in draw weights of 25# to 60# at 30 inches.
I have been lusting after the Mongol far longer than the Vazul has been available.
And the new Tartar bow:
http://horsebows.com/bows2.htm#TartarShortBow
Weighing 1 lb. 6 oz. it is 45 inches strung and unstrung, with a 45 inch string! Available from 30# to 110#
The tartar is very interesting, but my comfortable draw is 30″-32″, perfect for some of the Korean bows I’ve seen. I’m not sure how a 26″ max-draw would be.
If I can manage to move these lusted-after bows into my ownership, I am more than willing to find-out.
