About Me — Hvað segirðu?
I am Frosti Helgirson.
I study History, and am involved in “an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe.”
The ‘period’ in history that I am most interested in is considered to be in the ‘Dark Ages’, ‘The Vendel Period’ or more commonly known as ‘The Late Germanic Migrations’, around the time of Beowulf and the Sutton Hoo burial. I’m interested in the situations that led to the ‘Viking Age’.
I am infatuated with Trebuchets, and have a life-long love of Archery.
I gave 6 years of my life to the US Military, where I fixed mainframes (NEC 1664), was a member of the ship’s “Security Force” (Qualified Marksman 9mm, Sharpshooter M-14), and shipboard firefighting.
Afterwards, I graduated Culinary School with a degree in ‘International Baking and Pastry’.
I work for a Web-Hosting company (not this one), as a ‘Team Leader’ in Technical Support.
Note: I am not a developer. As-if my fancy websites don’t proclaim that on their own.
Let’s see, what to expect from me.
You can expect posts when I get around to it. My schedule and my very nature conspire to make me a Flake.
There will be some posts from time-to-time Venting-off issues that I see too commonly.
I will post items that relate to the SCA, various hobbies, tinkerings, my possibly coherent rambling, and my own brand of geektitude. (OpenBSD Rules! Python Rocks! I’m lame! . . . oh, wait.)
I’m doing this for myself and a few others (who would most likely prefer to remain unnamed).
If you like what you read here, drop me a comment . If you don’t like what you see here, drop a comment or find something else to read.
I guess that’s enough for now.
Við sjámst. See you later.
Frosti
