News Flash! OMFG! iTunes DRM-Free files has your registered email address embedded still.

Umm.  Why would this matter?  Who cares?  Well, other than file-sharers and the like.

Seriously.  Why should you, I, or anyone else care that the files we purchased to play on our own electronic devices has our own email address embedded?

Should I worry that I will be able to track who I am or something?

Should I worry that Apple will know that I am listening to the music that I bought from them?

Should I worry that Big Brother will be able to track my movements because of this?

(Everyone knows that Big Brother is watching us through the eyes of children, sedating us with Corn Flakes, and controlling us through rainbows.  Everyone does know this, right?)

Making Peace with SPAM(tm)

Spam is a misunderstood, neglected tool that should be a staple in every non-vegan/vegetarian and non-kosher pantry.

Spam is essentially Pork Shoulder and Ham.  There is sugar and sodium nitrate added.  Nothing scary.  Much less objectionable than what goes into Hot-Dogs.

How to eat spam.

The easiest way:   Get a spoon or a knife and fork and dig-in.
Granted, this doesn’t appeal to everyone.

CDBaby still rocks the most.

My favourite CD store has been DRM-free for a while, and has MP3 downloads.  I’ve only bought CDs from them before, and never noticed that they have been selling albums ripped to MP3 as well.

http://cdbaby.com/mp3

They even provide disclosure as to what percentage of the money goest to the artists and what percentage they keep to cover bandwidth, etc.

The artist sets the selling price, and 91% of the entire price goes directly to the musicians, paid every week.  CD Baby only keeps a 9% cut to pay for bandwidth and administration.

See, I can do short posts.

The fruit that people love to hate.

For years, people have bitched for Apple to drop their DRM.  Now that they have, people are bitching that they dropped it too late, Amazon is already free, why do I have to pay an additional 30 cents per song, etc.

What’s the problem?  Apple is not a charity.
